Ninety percent (90%) of Palau’s adult population have received their first dose of COVID vaccine as of April 27, 2021, according to report from the Ministry of Health EOC. And as of Wednesday, the total adult population fully vaccinated have reached 70%.
The goal to reach at least 80% vaccination is within reach as Ministry of Health continues to administer vaccination to general public. Today, anyone age 18 and above can walk into Palau National Gym between 12pm to 2pm to receive their vaccines.
President Surangel Whipps Jr. during his State of the Republic Address yesterday announced opening of flights from Guam to Palau this May 9 and May 30th through United Airlines.
The flights will accept only vaccinated travelers. United Airlines requires travelers to have been vaccinated prior to travel. Whipps encouraged Palauans outside to get vaccinated in the United States before coming home. He said seeks to open borders and travel but to do so “with care”. He added “we want to open but we also want to people to be safe.
