On Saturday, February 25, 2023, Guam Weightlifting Federation held the Olympic Weightlifting Championships. Palau Weightlifting Federation attended this meet with 9 athletes. Dominating the competition, Palau Weightlifting Competition came back home with a total of 13 medals. Roxanne Mae Canete totaling 115 kg. Jamaira Richard with the bronze medal also totaling 115 kg. Their youngest female athlete who’s only 13 years old, totaling 128 kg securing the gold medal in the Youth Division and Silver in the Open Division. Claire Kintoki with a total of 130 kg, winning a Bronze Medal. Chloe Patris totaled 115 kg, winning 3 medals: Gold in Youth and Junior Division and a silver in Open Division. Blaine Patris totaling 182 kg, securing Gold in both the Junior and Open Divisions. Benedict Kintaro with a total of 250 kg winning Gold in Open Division. Lastly, Stevick Patris totaling 285 kg winning Gold and the Sinclair Award which is awarded to the best lifter.

The Palau Weightlifting Federation would like to recognize their donors and sponsors, Former President Tommy Remengesau and the Remengesau Foundation, Delegate of Sonsorol Yutaka Gibbons, the Palau National Olympic Committee, Quentina Nestor and her family, and lastly, Mark Nestor and his wife.
