Aimeliik State celebrated July 1st, 2023, the 40th anniversary of its Constitution, recognizing its framers and the amendments adopted since its first referendum.  The event highlighted the ongoing work of the  2nd Constitutional Convention to propose amendments to the Constitution after 34 years.

The celebration was witnessed by members of Palau’s Council of Chiefs led by High Chief Reklai Bao Ngirmang, Vice President Uduch Sengebau-Senior from the Executive Branch, Senate President Hokkons Baules and House Speaker Sabino Anastacio, governors, and members of the diplomatic corps.

Calm, peace, and cooperation were emphasized throughout the speeches.

Members of the Constitutional Convention handed out ballot specimens for the upcoming referendum on the twenty-four proposed amendments to the Aimeliik State Constitution, scheduled for July 18, 2023.
