The Palau Public Utilities Corporation (PPUC) had lifted the emergency water rationing in Airai State that had been put in place after water level of Ngerikiil tank drastically went down following a leakage in the transmission line.

PPUC cancelled the water rationing after water level of the tank had been restored yesterday, January 3.

The leakage, according to an information from the PPUC, was caused by a damaged transmission line. PPUC is yet to issue an official report from the Water Operations Office.

PPPUC announced on January 2 that a major leakage in the transmission line of Ngerikiil caused water level of the tank to drop down, hence, prompting the office to impose water rationing in the affected state.

The water rationing was originally announced to last until January 6 but it was soon lifted after the water level had been restored. (Rhealyn C. Pojas)
