Palau count among its 97 allies and friends, the country of Hungary, in eastern Europe, Budapest is its capital. Last week, Hungary’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Philippines, Dr. Titanilla Toth LL.M was accredited to the Republic of Palau and presented her credentials in virtual presentation to President Surangel Whipps Jr.
Palau and Hungary established diplomatic relations in 2017. Ambassador Dr. Titanilla Toth said that she looks forward to developing the relationship between the two countries and invited President Whipps to Water Expo in Hungary later this year.
President Whipps also extended invitation to Ambassador Dr. Titanilla Toth to attend Our Oceans Conference in Palau in 2022.
Whipps last week signed an Executive Order re-organizing the Ministry of State, creating divisions to oversee four (4) different regions, Division of U.S., North, Central and South American Affairs, Division of Africa, Caribbean, E.U. and Eurasian Affairs, UN and Pacific Affairs and East Asian Affairs.
According Vice President and Minister of State J. Uduch Sengebau-Senior, with Palau being so small and having so many diplomatic allies, this provides an opportunity to train career diplomats with expertise in different regions around the world.
Whipps said that this organization does not expand the Ministry of State, rather it is aimed at creating a more effective and efficient organization. (By: L.N. Reklai)
