Ambassador Ilana Seid, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Palau to the United Nations, was recently cross-accredited as Palau’s ambassador to Israel, becoming the first Palau ambassador to this nation.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog received on October 31 the credentials of the new ambassador, for the first time ever, from Palau, at his official residence in Jerusalem.
Ambassador Seid related to Israeli President Herzog her heritage as the granddaughter of a Jew from California who fought in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII.
News reports said Herzog thanked Seid for Palau’s support of Israel in international forums and discussed ways to help Palau in the fields of agriculture, technology, and desalination. (By: L.N. Reklai)
