Angaur State will celebrate Palau’s Independence Day like no other – by conducting a fiesta where locals and guests can enjoy food and music in a camp.

Angaur State Governor Kennosuke Suzuky revealed his plans to commemorate Palau’s Independence Day through a series of activities that will kick off on October 8.

A prayer activity will then be conducted on October 8 in Mellech Cave – the site that had served as refuge for Angaur people’s ancestors during the advent of World War 2 in Palau.

A fiesta will then follow on October 11 and 12 where the locals and invited guests can enjoy the state’s Independence Day Fiesta.

Governor Suzuky said that they had formed a committee to finalize the plans for the celebration and to ensure the safety of guests. (Rhealyn C. Pojas)
