17 December 2024– The Australian Embassy is pleased to announce its support for the placement of Biomedical Technician – Mr. Andrew Lyons, at the Belau National Hospital (BNH). Mr Lyons visited Palau twice on technical assistance missions in 2023, to work alongside the biomed department and provide hands-on training to local staff.
With more than 20 years of biomedical experience Mr. Lyons’ will work in partnership with the biomedical team to ensure BNH’s medical equipment, clinical and surgical instruments are maintained and repaired to enhance the overall quality of healthcare services in Palau.
This support is a testament to the strong 30 years of bilateral relationship between Australia and Palau and reflects the shared commitment to strengthening health systems in Palau.
