Australia- Palau celebrating 30 Years
17 December 2024– The Australian Embassy wraps up our 30th anniversary celebrations of diplomatic relations the way we started – by hosting a fun run! Anniversary events throughout the year focused on the breadth and depth of our bilateral friendship. The fun run/walk demonstrates our mutual appreciation of community and the benefits of an active lifestyle with over 300 participants!
Participants ran and walked from the Australian Embassy (RT Building) to the President’s Satellite Office and back with a sense of celebration in the air. The Australian Embassy wishes to thank Palau Athletics, the RT Building and tenants and Team Palau 2025 for their support of the event.
Other events hosted during our 30th anniversary celebrations included – an Australian aboriginal exhibition which travelled to 8 schools, trivia on EPFM each month about Australia and elements of our bilateral partnership, an introduction to Australian music from across 30 years – also on EPFM, a former Australian parliamentarian meeting with Australia Award Scholarship alumni and women to speak about the importance of leadership and community democracy, an Instagram competition, port visit from Australian Defence Vessel (ADV) Reliant, the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) dropping a bundle of joy at Skojio as part of Operation Christmas Drop, and hearing from former Australian Ambassadors to Palau and much more.
