November 14, 2018 – Hagatna, Guam.    Bank of Guam’s Interim President and Chief Executive Officer Joaquin P.L.G. Cook traveled to Saipan to meet with the Bank’s Saipan team, tour the aftermath of Typhoon Yutu, and donate $100,000 to benefit the community.

“Viewing the devastating effects of Yutu on our community tugs on the collective hearts of the People’s Bank family.  All of our employees from throughout Guam, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Palau and San Francisco join together to support and uplift the spirits of the people of the CNMI who are facing incalculable challenges as they recover and rebuild from Yutu.  It is at times like these that the primary mission becomes helping those who need it most, and our Bank of Guam family is prepared to assist in all the ways we can.”

Since the passing of Typhoon Yutu, Bank of Guam has contributed $15,000 to Ayuda Foundation to airlift medical supplies for 10,000 patients.  The Bank has also established a “Typhoon Yutu Relief” fund account, offered loan deferments for CNMI residents and provided its services for coin drives in support of the CNMI community.
