KOROR, Palau — The Belau Youth Games and Festival concludes Friday, July 12th, and culminates with a closing ceremony on Saturday, July 13th, at 1:30 PM at the Palau National Gymnasium.

More than 400 student-athletes participated in 11 sports during the week-long event held at various venues in Koror and Airai. The program offered students the opportunity to learn and compete in a variety of Olympic and other sports disciplines, including athletics, archery, baseball, basketball, canoeing, tennis, sailing, swimming, table tennis, volleyball, and wrestling.

The Ministry of Education, Palau National Olympic Committee (NOC), and various sports federations collaborated on this year’s program.

Athletes received daily transportation and lunch. Buses transported students from Babeldaob to competition venues and returned them by 3 PM each day.

Organizers report strong interest from both students and parents to continue the program annually to identify talent and develop young athletes. The goal is to provide all Palauan students and youth with full access to sports and physical activities.

The public is encouraged to attend the closing ceremony and visit sports facilities on Friday, July 12th, the final day of the competition.
