The Taiwan Scholarship Recipient Orientation was held on August 16, 2022, at the Ministry of Education. Ambassador Jessica Lee of the Republic of China (Taiwan) awarded ten students Taiwan Scholarship certificate. Minister of Education, Dr. Dale Jenkins, Board Member of Palau National Scholarship Board, Joseph Anastacio and Palau High School Principal, Smyth Rdang also attended the ceremony.
Ambassador Lee congratulated the recipients for receiving the hard-earned scholarship. It’s an excellent choice to study in Taiwan to explore the world with diverse, elite higher education opportunity. Taiwan semiconductor industry provides the two thirds of the world market. The sophisticated industry supply chain and trade, and the vibrant civil society give students opportunities to explore their future school and majors. She also recommended students to utilize the first year of language training.
Palau Minister of Education Dr. Dale Jenkins expressed appreciation to Taiwan for providing scholarships and training talents for Palau. He also encouraged students to absorb knowledge as much as possible, enrich themselves, broaden their visions and experience different things.
Five current students share their experiences and fully communicated with the students and parents.
The ten scholarship recipients are: Takami M. Akitaya, Celeen B. Beltau, Alishey H. Henry, RJ R. Jonathan, Justice E. Melairei, Rhuetei J. Mutsuo, Kenley K. Rudimch-Kenneth, R-Jane I. Skebong, Benancio B. Tadao, Ksau A. F. Whipps
That Taiwan’s safe and high quality of life and education, and the distance close to Palau has become one of the most popular higher education destination. There are more than one hundred and fifty Palauan students enrolled in the scheme since 2005. The recipients are scheduled to depart on Aug 27 and 31 respectively.
