Australian Embassy’s 2023 direct aid program

29 May 2023– The Australian Embassy is pleased to announce the following recipients of the Direct Aid Program (DAP) for 2023:

  • Ngeremlengui Club – restoring heavily damaged docks due to storm weather and resulting storm surges.
  • Ebiil Society – to develop Ebiil Society’s community forestry learning site.
  • Ngermechau Kltalreng Club – restoring access to the traditional village of Ngermechau, Ngiwal.
  • Rteluul Community Regeneration Organisation – to support local composting in Ngarchelong.
  • Palau Sailing Association – teaching sailing techniques using traditional and OP Dinghy sailing boats.
  • Palau Formosa Livestock Association – training and teaching youth on how to take care of and raise livestock.

Congratulations to all recipients! Ambassador Richelle Turner appreciated the opportunity to meet with all the recipients in person on Thursday 25 May and discuss the ways in which these projects will benefit the community.

DAP is a flexible, small grants program funded by the Australian Government. Funding of up to USD10,000 is available to non-government organizations and community groups engaged in development projects.
