August 21, 2017 (Koror, Palau) Confirmed dengue cases keep dropping as relentless efforts to educate people and clean up communities continue.

According to released report from Bureau of Public Health shows that as of August 21, 2017, only 29 cases of dengue were confirmed. Previous month, there were a total of 66 cases reported.  The number is down significantly from 122 that was reported in June.


Only five out of the sixteen states had cases.  Cases reported from the most populous state of Koror,  is down by 24% compared to the month of June.

Ministry of Health and Koror State government continue to conduct townhall meetings in different hamlets to raise awareness about the dengue virus.

Until Palau reaches 10 cases of dengue per month, it remains under Dengue Outbreak Watch and people are reminded to continue to follow prescribed procedures for dengue prevention. [/restrict]
