The entire compact road, including intersections and docks and ports of the states, will be installed with streetlights through the Compact Connecting Road Project that is set to be completed by November this year.

In a press conference held on Wednesday at the Office of the President, Bureau of Public Works (BPW) Director Brian Melairei said that areas not yet reached by the electricity line will be installed with solar panels to power the streetlights while areas that already have electricity will be using electricity to power the LED lights.

The project, which cost $1.2-M, is funded through the Taiwan stimulus fund worth $1-M and another $200,000 from the local energy program.

The Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Industries and Commerce (MPIC) had already completed the bidding process and the installation will begin as soon as the materials shipped from overseas arrived in Palau.
