Thirty three young Palauan men and women in the Job Corps Program came home for Christmas vacation and had returned to their respective Job Corps centers in Maui and Oahu Hawaii as of January 07, 2020. Some of them are not shown.

While here for the holiday, the trainees and the Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs Directors Miko and Ngirmang and Program Coordinator Ms. Inez Remengesau, met with them to share information, concerns and to update their files. MCCA was able to learn from the trainees their Training Achievement Records status, their trades and future plans.

The trades of which these trainees are enrolled in are Culinary Arts, Home Builders Institute, Retail Sales, Auto, Security & Protective Services, and Landscaping.  Their Training Achievement Record shows most of them will be graduating in March 2020.  After the March 2020 graduation, the trainees are presented with three options; 1) Advance Training in San Francisco, Clearfield/Utah, and San Diego, 2) relocate to the United States to work or stay in Maui or Oahu and work, or return home and join the local workforce and 3) join the United States Military.   As of now, three who are graduating in March 2020 will join U.S. military. As part of the program, a Career Transition Specialist will assist graduates in job search at where they are at.
