House adopts standing committee report approving a proposed bill to pay issue $25,000 to the 5 athletes that represented Palau in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil this last summer.

Report states that the athletes proudly represented their nation and that “their performances are the direct result of many sacrifices made in preparation for this and many regional and international competitions.”
The House Committee on Ways and Means recommended that the appropriation be made in “recognition of sacrifices” that the athletes, families, coaches, teammates and communities all did to the betterment of the athletes who served as ambassadors of the Republic of Palau.
The athletes were Rodman Teltull, Shawn Dingelius Wallace, Dirrengulbai “UB” Misech, Marina Toribiong and Florian Skilang Temengil.
