Senate passed in its third reading and sent to the House a bill to create grant program to fund services for runaway youths.
The bill recognizes that many non-government agencies and organizations provide services to troubled youths and seeks to support the existing programs as “an efficient way for governments to maximize service provision when funding is scarce.”

The bill creates a grant program to be administered under the Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs in line with its part in implementing the Family Protection Act.
According to the bill, MCCA will be creating regulations for implementation of this grant which will allow eligible agencies or organizations providing the services to troubled youths to apply for funds to support the operation of their programs.
