On Thursday, March 10, 2022, Immigration began fingerprinting and taking facial recognition photos of all incoming passengers arriving on Thursdays evening flight that arrived from Guam at the Palau International Airport. According to Flavin Misech, Chief of Immigration, the Officers began capturing facial photographs and fingerprints of all travelers as a part of the screening entry process. The use of modern equipment and technology is a big part of our commitment to ensure Palau’s borders are safe and secured as we facilitate and process legitimate travelers. While there is more work that needs to be done in order to enhance our Immigration Systems, this is just one small step that we are taking to improve the process without delays.
