On July 03, 2017, in Courtroom 202 in the Judiciary complex in Ngerulmud, Melekeok State, Kevin Bennardo, Clinical Associate Professor of Law at the University of North Carolina School of Law was sworn in as an Associate Justice of the Appellate Division by Vice President Raynold B. Oilouch.  

[restrict] Associate Justice Bennardo now joins the Appellate Division as a non‑resident justice who will serve when a resident justice has conflict of interest.  After taking his oath of office, Associate Justice Bennardo was welcomed to the appellate bench by Chief Justice Ngiraklsong in a special session of the Appellate Division.

Associate Justice Bennardo was accompanied by Mr. Matthew Stall, a long time friend from college.  Associate Justice Bennardo is married to Amy Ullrick and they have two children.  Ms. Ullrick could not make the trip as she needs to stay home with their two small children.  Ms. Ullrick served as an Assistant Public Defender of Palau from 2009 to 2010.       [/restrict]
