KOROR, Palau — Koror State voters will head to the polls in mid-November 2025 to elect members of the state’s Legislature and governor, the Palau Election Commission confirmed.
The Legislature is made up of one representative from each hamlet and five at-large seats, totaling 17. To date, 21 candidates have filed to run, including six for the at-large seats and 15 representing individual hamlets. Three of the twelve hamlets have yet to have a candidate formally file petitions, namely Medalaii, Ngerkebesang, and Idid hamlets. The closing date for candidate petition filing is October 10, 2025, and candidates for the three hamlets, as well as any additional At-Large candidates, are expected to file by the deadline.
At-large candidates are Wilson Ngirausui, Kyonori “Kyon” Tellames, Millan Isack, Marie Meor Anderson Nabeyama, Jason Nolan, and Uchel Sechewas. Hamlet candidates are:
- Ngermid: Miver Umedip, Tito Ringang
- Ngerkesoaol: Polycarp Marcil, Starsky Masang
- Ngerchemai: Kob R. Kikuo, Clara Nglodech Rechebei, Lovelynson Wally
- Iyebukel: Devon Tellames Andreas
- Meketii: Kenjiro Dengokl, Ltelatk Harriet Fritz
- Ikelau: Richard Alonz
- Ngerbeched: Susan Ngirausui, Alonz Moses
- Dngeronger: Samuel Henry Saunders Jr.
- Meyuns: Edwenor Sadang, Sarah Sugiyama
- Medalaii – None filed yet.
- Ngerkebesang – None filed yet.
- Idid – None filed yet.
The governor’s race will also be on the ballot, with incumbent Gov. Eyos Rudimch seeking re-election against challenger Alan Marbou, a former contender for the seat. With only two gubernatorial candidates, no runoff election will take place.
As of Sept. 24, 2025, there are 5,971 registered voters in Koror. The Election Commission has not yet finalized the list of polling places.
The outcome of the election will shape local governance, with the Legislature and governor playing key roles in community policy and development.
