A 40 year old man, Jerry Demei from Ngerbeched was found unresponsive on the evening of November 5th , showing signs of having been beaten, and died shortly after, reported Public Information Office Jose Ise of the Ministry of Justice.
Report said the suspect, a 60 year old April Mesubed who allegedly had beaten up Mr. Demei earlier with wooden object and left, heard of the victim’s death and turned himself in to the police.
Tia Belau newspaper reported earlier that both suspect and victim lived next to each other and both were drinking alcohol at the home of the suspect prior to the incident.
According to Ise, the suspect is still in custody while investigation is ongoing.
