A new corporation called Airai Global Corporation (AGC), backed by investors from Malaysia and Singapore, announced a massive development project in Palau, said to transform the island nation into a premier tourist destination. The 10-15 year project, is reportedly valued in the multi-billions and will encompass an expansive 44 square kilometers within Airai state, boasting luxury resorts, waterfront villas, marinas, theme parks, and even medical facilities.

This ambitious undertaking is said to propel Palau’s economic growth by attracting high-net-worth tourists and creating significant job opportunities for the local population. The news report recently released in New Strait Times, Singapore, said AGC is committed to eco-friendly practices, incorporating solar power and waste management initiatives into the project’s design. Additionally, it reports that a passport program is being established to attract foreign investment and expertise.

In the report, Governor Norman Ngiratecheboet of Airai State expressed optimism about the project’s potential, highlighting its ability to generate employment and empower local businesses through tourism-related services. He emphasized Palau’s commitment to safety and security, positioning the island as “open for business” and ready to welcome international partnerships.

The directors of the Airai Global Corporation are also the directors of Alii Palau Airlines, another Palau corporation, Hayato Sugiyama, Glenn Seid and Terence Ruluked. (By: L.N. Reklai)
