HONOLULU (Aug. 29, 2025) — Matson Inc. has promoted three executives to key leadership roles, a move the U.S. Pacific shipping and logistics company says will enhance its operational capabilities and support long-term growth.

Vic Angoco, a 35-year maritime industry veteran, has been named executive vice president of operations. He will oversee Matson’s West Coast terminals, vessel and equipment operations, engineering, and corporate facilities from the company’s new office in Walnut Creek, California.

“Vic is one of Matson’s most experienced and trusted leaders, and his appointment will add considerable strength to our management team overseeing vessel and terminal operations,” said Matt Cox, chairman and CEO of Matson.

Angoco began his career on Guam and joined Matson in 1996. He has held leadership positions in Guam, San Francisco and Hawaii, and previously served as senior vice president of the Pacific Division and, most recently, head of Matson’s Alaska team.

Succeeding him in Alaska, Jennifer Tungul has been promoted to senior vice president. Tungul, who joined Matson’s Alaska operations in 2002, will oversee all business activities in the state. She has held a series of leadership roles, including general manager of Dutch Harbor and director of Alaska operations.

Rob Olson will step into Tungul’s former role as vice president of Alaska operations, with responsibility for terminal operations in Anchorage, Kodiak and Dutch Harbor. Olson joined Matson in 2022 and previously served as general manager of the Anchorage terminal, expanding his scope to safety, quality, environment and security oversight. He also brings prior leadership experience from the retail grocery sector and eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps.

“Jennifer and Rob are exemplary leaders from the next generation at Matson and are ideally positioned to lead our Alaska operations toward a prosperous future,” Cox said.

Founded in 1882, Matson operates a fleet of 22 vessels and provides shipping services across Hawaii, Alaska, Guam, Micronesia and parts of the South Pacific, as well as an expedited service between China and Southern California. Its logistics division offers intermodal, highway, warehousing and freight forwarding services throughout the continental U.S. (PR)
