Mechesil Belau will hold its 28th conference next week.  The yearly 2-day event will be held on September 29 to 30, 2021 with a theme, “Issues and Matters for discussions, plans and action that we can do to support, advocate and for the benefit of our good health, our children and our people during these challenging times of COVID-19.”

$75,000 was appropriated by the government to fund the 2-day event.  The yearly 2 to 3-day event has been funded through government appropriation for over 5 years now.

The event is hosted by Mechesil Belau (representatives of women) from different states in Palau for 27 years and covers topics from all walks of life.  The first day consists of speakers from key government entities including traditional leaders.  Issues raised by the Mechesil Belau are summed up with recommended actions after the conference.  Topics are expected to cover some of same issues raised from previous years, but in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
