Palau is expecting the visit of a member of the German Parliament in August, State Minister Faustina Rehuher-Marugg said.
In an interview on Friday, July 12, Minister Rehuher-Marugg said that the member of the German parliament, who is also the chairman of Committee on Globalization and UN International Relations and Globalization, will be visiting Palau to look at ways in which Germany can further its diplomatic relationship with the country.
The minister said that the guest will meet personnel from Palau Energy Administration (PEA) and other government officials.
Rehuher-Marugg said that they are now currently making arrangement with the national congress for the special guest’s visit.
The state minister attended the Berlin Climate and Security Conference on June 4 where she had the chance to engage in a discussion on food security and climate refugees, among others.
“We are building a closer relationship with Germany. After this meeting, I was able to meet with some leaders in Berlin and met with the members of parliament, and the Deputy Secretary of Foreign Affairs,” the minister said. (Rhealyn C. Pojas)
