The National Environmental Protection Council, in with other local agencies and NGOs, is hosting a public forum called the Stakeholders Dialogue on Oceans. The theme of the Dialogue is “Allow the Ocean to Sustain Us”.
A healthy ocean is critical for human well-being because of the resources and services they provide us, such as food, transportation, and attraction for visitors. The work we are doing to minimize our impact on the ocean will allow those services from the ocean to continue.
The objective of the Dialogue is to update the public and partners about the work that has been done in regards to natural resource management, particularly for the ocean, as well as receive feedback and inputs. Topics will include:
- Palau National Marine Sanctuary
- Protected Areas Network
- Micronesia Challenge
- Fisheries in Palau
- Capacity Building
- Land and Sea Connections
The Stakeholders Dialogue on Oceans will be held at the Ngarachamayong Cultural Center on Thursday, August 29, 2019, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This event is free and open to the public, and the Dialogue will also be broadcast on Palau Wave Radio, 89.9.
The NEPC, PICRC, and all partners would like to thank the public for their continued support and invite all interested to attend or tune in, and learn more about how we can allow the ocean to sustain us. (PR)
