Family and relatives of missing man, Matthew Omengebar are still searching for him nine days after he was last seen on September 27th.
The 56-year old man is said to be not strong enough to walk far and does not travel far from his usual route, from his house to Ngarchelong market, a short distance on straight road.
Ngarchelong community is puzzled over his disappearance. “He walks with a walking stick and will not venture out too far or to uneven areas. It is unusual for him to travel far,” said a relative from Ngarchelong joining the search.
According to MOJ Public Information Ofifcer Jose Ise, the search is being conducted on land, in the waters by rangers of nearby states as well as with drones. Yesterday’s search yielded no results and today the search continues.
Search is ongoing and anyone that may have any information about Mathew Omengebar from Ngarchelong State is urged to contact the Bureau of Public Safety.
