In light of the Trafficking in Persons report suggesting measures for the trafficked victim released last month, Anti-Human Trafficking Office stated that there are no victims currently at the shelter.

Anti-Human Trafficking Office coordinator Jennifer Anson said that the there are no victims at the shelter for trafficked persons to provide the facilities that were mentioned in the report.

The TIP report suggested that official complicity played a role in facilitating trafficking and authorities have investigated government officials—including labor, immigration, law enforcement, and elected officials—for complicity in trafficking crimes.

Anson said that there has been no recent investigation for facilitating trafficking. The officials from labor and immigration were looked into several years back. (Eshan Kalyanikar)
