December 26, 2017 (Koror, Palau) Number of reported incidents by the police rose during the holiday week, December 18-25.
Number of reported break-in and thefts rose to 14 during an eight day period. Nine driving incidents not including drunk driving was reported. There were 30 drunken incidents including drunk driving, disorderly conduct, violation of Family Protection Act, assaults and threatening.

Bulk of the reports came from Koror and there were also reports from outlying states of drunken incidents.
There was one death report of a David Keptot of Ngerbodel, Koror on the 18th of December. According to reports, he slipped and fell and hit his head. Caller to police station reported that he was laying in a pool of blood. Police responders found him outside of the house but reported blood splatters all the way into his house. He was immediately taken to the hospital and was pronounced death upon arrival.
A fire was also reported at Surangel’s barraks in Airai in the early morning of December 18th. There were no reported injuries and the fire was extinguished.
Increase in number of officers presence during this period account for quick response to number reported incidents. [/restrict]
