This space will allow experts and researchers to present their findings under the P-CoRIE project. Speakers and presenters include Associate Professor from UoR, Dr. Takashi Nakamura, who will give an overview of the progress so far as well as plans towards completing the project and finally utilizing the information into policies. Dr. Nakamura along with P-CoRIE researcher, Dr. Yuen Yeong Shyan, and PICRC researcher, Marine Gouezo will all present their projects on different coral reef community surveys. Finally, Japan Wildlife Research Center (JWRC) Chief Researcher, Tadashi Kimura will talk about capacity enhancement efforts in Palau.
The P-CoRIE Research Seminar is open to the public. Anyone who is interested is welcomed to come and join the seminar and hear about ongoing and proposed projects for the remainder of this five-year collaboration project. The Seminar will begin at 8:30 AM and conclude at 3:00 PM.
The P-CoRIE project is supported by two Japanese government agencies, Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which falls under the Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS), which promotes international joint research targeting global issues. Its core component is collaboration with other countries stemming from the basic fact that global challenges cannot be met by a single country or region acting on its own. [/restriction]
