The theme for World Oceans Day 2023 is “Planet Ocean: Tides are Changing.” This theme aims to raise awareness of the importance of the ocean and the need to protect it.
The proclamation said that Palau had been a staunch advocate for the protection and sustainable use of ocean resources.
Palau, it said, has made strides in the protection of the ocean and promotion of sustainable use of the ocean.
The 2023 theme is a call to action for everyone to make a difference by reducing our consumption of single-use plastics, supporting sustainable seafood, and advocating for policies that protect the ocean.
