WASHINGTON,25 SEPTEMBER 2025 (PALAU GOVT)—Palau President Surangel Whipps Jr recently attended a United Airlines Board of Directors event in Washington, D.C.
The event provided an opportunity for President Whipps to meet with CEO Scott Kirby and various United Airlines officials and Board Members.
The meeting underscored the strong relationship between Palau and United Airlines, a key partner in connecting the island nation to the rest of the world. Discussions included ongoing collaboration and future initiatives to enhance travel to and from Palau.
“We are grateful for United’s continued partnership and commitment to our region,” said President Whipps.
“These discussions are vital for ensuring reliable air service that supports our tourism sector and local economy.”
Palau is also eagerly anticipating the commencement of direct flights between Narita, Japan (NRT) and Palau, Koror (ROR), scheduled to begin on 29 October.
