Palau readies itself for the 29th Independence Day celebration themed “A Rengeasek a Ongebleblel a Dikesed” and the 2023 Olechotel Belau Fair.

The Ms. Belau Pageant kicks off the activities on Friday, 29th of September, at the Island Paradise Resort starting at 5 pm in the evening.

Olechotel Belau Fair, the annual event showcasing Palauan culture, products, and performing arts, will take place the day before Independence Day on Saturday, 30th of September, at the Koror side of the Japan-Palau Friendship Bride.  It is a full-day event starting from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

October 1st, Palau’s 29th Independence Day, takes place at the Japan-Palau Friendship Bridge, starting with a 5K Walk/Run activity from 4:15 a.m. to 10 a.m.   The Independence Day Opening Ceremony will commence at 10 a.m.

Major Independence Day activities include 16 States’ Dish tasting, Boat Race, and Fireworks.

Olchotel Belau Fair and Independence Day will be held at the Koror side of the Japan-Palau Friendship Bridge (KB Bridge). Given the weather forecast, everyone is encouraged to be alert and prepare for all weather conditions. (By: L.N. Reklai)
