The International Tennis Federation (ITF) sent Coach Martin Setiawan to Palau from September 15-17 to support the Palau Tennis Federation’s Junior Tennis Development.

Coach Setiawan conducted tennis clinics to Palau’s junior tennis players and also introduced the game of tennis to around 200 students from Meyuns Elementary School, Airai Elementary School and Koror Elementary School.

The 3-day program was made possible with support from the Non Communicable Disease Funds, the International Tennis Federation, Palau Tennis Federation, and parents of the junior tennis players.

PTF is grateful for Setiawan’s visit and his support for the junior tennis program. His expertise and experience helped to further develop the next generation of Palauan tennis stars. Setiawan believes that Palau has the potential to produce world-class tennis players.

PTF President Ernestine Rengiil said, “We are very grateful to Mr. Setiawan for visiting Palau and for sharing his knowledge and expertise with our junior tennis players. We believe that his visit helped to lay the foundation for a bright future for tennis in Palau.”

PTF is hopeful that Setiawan will return in the near future to train more players and coaches to support the development of the sport of tennis in Palau.

This is a positive development for the Palau Tennis Federation and for tennis in Palau as a whole. Coach Setiawan’s visit and his support for the junior tennis program will help to develop more competitive junior tennis players who will be able to compete in local, regional and international tennis tournaments.
