February arrivals into Palau increased compared to last month’s arrivals.
According to the latest visitor arrivals statistics by the Palau Visitors Authority ( PVA) February, arrivals totaled 2,415, representing an increase of 366 percent compared to February 2022 with 518 arrivals ; and also a rise of 21% compared to last month
The statistics further said that Taiwan still leads in arrivals representing 38%, followed by USA/ Canada with 36%, then Japan with 14%.
The PVA also reported that during the month of February, the “ award-winning” cruise ship Silver Shadow operated by Silversea Cruises made a stop in Palau for the first time since its delay from the pandemic.
It added that out t of the 290 passengers on board, around 75%of passengers were met by a few local tour operators to commence their activities for the day.
According to new data UN World Tourism Organization, , more than 900 million tourists traveled internationally in 2022 – double the number recorded in 2021 though still 63% of pre-pandemic levels. Every global region recorded notable increases in international tourist numbers.
