Palau Visitors Authority’s first 680 Night Market of the year and first ever night market held on a Saturday, February 13th, 2021

Palau Visitors Authority’s first 680 Night Market of the year and first ever night market held on a Saturday was greeted by roughly 2,150 guests including, His Excellency President Surangel Whipps Jr., Madam Vice President J. Uduch Sengebau Senior., U.S. Ambassador John Hennessy-Niland, and R.O.C Taiwan Ambassador Wallace Chow.
The 680 Night Market which was held on Saturday, February 13th, 2021 hosted a total of 30 food and handicraft vendors. The night concluded at its usual hour 9pm, however, as the theme was around Valentine’s Day, there was a Palauan cupid, a photo booth with printed photos as giveaways, dance performances by Ngardmau: Ercheroi dancers, Peleliu: Sechedui dancers, and Melekeok: Artingalek dancers, and with live music from Kendall T., Vema, and Kayama. Besides the delicious foods and various items being sold, generous donations from vendors allowed for fun games and prize giveaways making a fun memorable night for the crowd.
PVA State & Community Programs Manager Katarina Mad shares, “The number of registered vendors for this night market is one of the largest in the history of night markets. It was delightful to see new faces both at the booths and in the crowd. This was also the largest crowd we have had since the closure of borders.”
If you are interested in joining the next night market on February 27th, 2021 as a vendor or as entertainment please contact Ms. Kate Mad or Ms. Mara Immanuel at 488-2793/1930.
