KOROR, Palau— Women leaders in Palau are being offered an online workshop to gain expertise in navigating Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The invitation comes from the Women Political Leaders (WPL), a global network advocating for women in politics. WPL aims to increase the number of women in leadership positions and their influence.
In a letter to the Palau Senate, the WPL Secretariat acknowledged the “unique challenges” faced by women in politics, including “online violence and harassment, disinformation and deep fakes.”
The letter said the online workshop series, offered in partnership with Microsoft, will explore the “intersection between technology and democracy.”
The workshop will also cover the potential of AI technologies and digital tools for use in public service.
WPL is encouraging female senators and their staff to attend the workshop.
