The Bureau of Revenue and Taxation (BRT), Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Palau expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Chris Jordan, departing Commissioner of the Australian Tax Office (ATO), for his invaluable contributions. Under Commissioner Jordan’s guidance, BRT, in collaboration with the ATO, initiated the twinning project, a bilateral initiative aimed at providing technical assistance during the implementation of tax reform and enhancing the Bureau’s capacity for modernization.
During a meeting in Sydney, Australia on July 31, 2023, Director Elway Ikeda had the privilege of engaging in a fruitful discussion on leadership in tax administration and policy implementation with Commissioner Jordan. The Bureau is immensely grateful for Commissioner Jordan’s unwavering support and dedication, which have been instrumental in Palau’s pursuit of modernized tax administration, fostering voluntary tax compliance, and ensuring transparency in tax practices.
