On January 11, 2021, the Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) welcomed Palau Community College (PCC) student Adrian Ililau, who will be completing his Internship and Field Studies in the Environment/Marine Science Program at PICRC.
Adrian is a sophomore, pursuing a major in Environmental/Marine Science. Under the mentorship of Researcher Victor Nestor, Mr. Ililau will learn about surveying techniques, proper use of field equipment, and best practices to collect and analyze data. He will be using these skills to develop a research project of his own, needed to fulfill PCC’s program requirements.
“With education being a top priority for the Center, PICRC is happy to share with students the work our researchers do at the Center,” said PICRC Research Director, Geraldine Rengiil. “We hope that this exposure inspires the next generation of Palau’s marine researchers,” she added.
