On January 27, the Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) welcomed 2021 Spring Intern, Angelil Sisior. A senior at Palau Mission Academy (PMA), Angelil will be at the Center until May. The purpose of the internship is to involve students in conservation, while helping them develop work ethics. At the same time, the internship is intended to orient careers of choice.
During the next four months, Angelil will be working with the Center’s Aquarists, learning about the work involved to keep the organisms at the aquarium healthy. She will also have the opportunity to interact with PICRC’s researchers by receiving lessons on conservation, ecosystems, and the work that they do in the field. Likewise, Angelil will take on a leadership role by organizing activities for the visitors of the Palau Aquarium.
PICRC welcomes Angelil to the Center and encourages more students to take advantage of its internship programs. It is a great way to learn first-hand about the work that the Center does in conservation.
