The Peleliu State Legislature is urging President Surangel Whipps Jr. and the leaders of the Olbiil Era Kelulau (OEK) to seek outside financial help to replace the boat ramp infrastructure in the state.
In an adopted resolution from the Peleliu State Legislature is seeking the expansion of the harbor docks.
The legislators said with the population growth in the state and the expanding foreign visitors, the port has become the daily hub for daily businesses in the state.
“The Peleliu State Government through these expansion, repair, and replacement of the harbor docks can provide quality public services making sure that State citizens, people both locals and tourists and the State government are able adequately use these improved public boats including providing a safe place for dry dock maintenance and repairs,” the resolution said.
It said that it is asking for budget assistance from the national government to finance such needed public infrastructure improvements.
