5 December 2024– Project Olangch has been transformative for Palau’s health system, which is now one of the most digitised health systems in the Pacific region and more advanced than many higher-resourced settings. With support from the Australian Government since 2020, Beyond Essential Systems (BES) has worked with Belau National Hospital (BNH) to roll out a fit-for-purpose, integrated eHealth ecosystem in Palau.
The system provides an electronic health record platform (Tamanu), a logistics management information system (mSupply) across all operational health facilities, a laboratory system called Senaite and Tupaia for data aggregation, analysis, and visualisation.
To continue the momentum of Phase 1, on Monday 2 December 2024 the Ministry of Health and Human Services and the Australian Embassy launched Phase 2 which realises ongoing support through to 2027.
Australia is proud to partner with Belau National Hospital, the Ministry of Health and Human Services and Beyond Essential Systems to deliver this project – Project Olangch.
