(Koror, Palau) – Palau High School hosts summer youth workers for six weeks during the school break. The two workers are twin sisters namely Maeley Marino and Maylah Marino who are students at the school. The school principal, teachers and staff were happy to host both young girls by introducing them to a variety of administrative tasks in the office. For instance, Maeley learned to answer the telephone during the busy hours of registration while handling office deliveries such as school transcripts, faxes, and other communications. Maylah who worked with the school extension building assisted the Palau National Scholarship Office in maintaining the building cleanliness and sorting books on shelves.
Mr. Smyth Rdang, the school principal and his staff along with dedicated teachers who worked in the office during the fall school registration periods are grateful for the assistance provided by the summer student workers who were working under the 2020 Competence Skill Learning Summer Employment Program with the Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs – Youth Program.
