Chairperson Kevin Polloi and the members of the Palau National Scholarship Board met with Political Counsellor Dr. Rebecca Shah during their UK delegation visit to the Republic of Palau on March 8, 2022.  They discussed the British Chevening Scholarship and how the British Embassy would like to see an increase in the numbers of applicants from the Republic of Palau.  The British Chevening Scholarship is fully funded and covers all the educational expenses of the students like their airfare, accommodation tuition, etc.  Students are free to focus on their education and pursue their goals.  Recipients of the Chevening Scholarships will be able to reside in the UK for one year during which they can experience everything that can make them grow academically.  They will develop professional skills and will be a part of a thriving culture.

It takes about 8 months from when the applications start to when the applicants get selected for the scholarship. Students are advised to complete their applications well before the deadline and leave spare time for review and revision. The next application period opens in July 2022 and closes on November 02, 2022. Pursuant to PNC 22§227 e, PNSB is authorized to seek additional sources of scholarship opportunities for the Palauan citizens.  Along with the Chevening Scholarship, PNSB also assists in the administration and promotion of other country scholarships such as the MOFA & ICDF Taiwan Scholarships, Japan Government Scholarships, Australian Government Scholarships and other scholarships sponsored by private organizations and the national government. If you have any questions, please log on to the PNSB website at www.pnsb.org or contact the local Scholarship Office at 488-3608.
