President Surangel Whipps Jr. and a 22-member delegation departed last night to attend the 2020 World Expo Dubai, where they will attend Palau National Day celebration on December 9.

The Expo was supposed to be held in 2020 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed until 2021. 

According to a press release issued by the Office of the President, the celebration will include an official ceremony at the Palau Pavilion, with Palau flag raising, a national anthem, a speech from President Whipps, and a cultural performance.

President Whipp’s delegation consists of 12 performers, Senator Rukebai Inabo, Delegate Mengkur Rechelulk, Mr. Wade Taro, Ms. Surech Bells Hideyos, Mr. McMichael Mutok, Postmaster Santy Asanuma, Mr. Glenn Seid, Ms. Jennifer Olegeriil, Mr. Marsei Orrukem, and Ms. Katrina Mad.

The delegation is slated to return on the 16th of December.
