President’s Day Derby a success

The President’s Day Derby concluded on May 31^st at Riptide Bar and Grill with Team 201 walking away with the $1,500 cash prize for catching a 298 lbs. Marlin.

The President’s Derby also featured other categories such as the tuna and wahoo categories. In the tuna category, the 3^rd place went to the COVID-19 for reeling in a 69.5 lbs tuna and walked away with $750, 2^nd place went to LK who caught a 70lbs tuna and won a $1,000, then the 1^st place went to BG Japan who caught 106lbs with a cash prize pf $1,500.

Team Mengesbakl won 2^nd place in the wahoo category with their catch being 21.5lbs and they won $750. Coming in 1^st was Team Press for their catch that weighed 22.5lbs and winning $1000.

The Palau Sports Fishing Association also thanked the Presidential Candidates of 2020, Mr. Alan Seid, Mr. Johnson Toribiong, Vice President Raynold Oilouch and Surangel Whipps Jr., for their sponsorship.
