(Koror, Palau) President Tommy E. Remengesau Jr. will be the first President of Palau to appoint the most justices and judges to the Judiciary since the establishment of this Republic, according to Chief Justice Arthur Ngirakelsong.

Total of 24 Justices and Judges who serve on part-time and full time were appointed during the years that Remengesau has been the President of Palau.
Former President Kuniwo Nakamura follows with 12 appointments of full time and part time justices and judges during his terms as President of the Republic.
Last 9th OEK, a budget was made to fund the Appellate Division of the Palau Supreme Court, separating the Trial Division from the Appellate Division. In doing so, additional judges had to be appointed.
President Remengesau appointed 3 more full time judges and 3 more part time justices, resulting in having the most number of judges appointed over the period of 12 years as President.
