Palau Conservation Society, Koror, Palau-  The Responsible Tourism Committee conducted a Responsible Tourism Workshop for Taiwan tour operators based in Palau on Friday, November 25, 2016 at The Penthouse Hotel.  Thanks to the representatives and managers from Island Paradise Resort Club, Palasia Hotel Palau, Long Rainbow Happy Tour, Palau Tour, Palau International Tour, Papago International Resort, K.B. The committee of the Responsible Tourism campaign is reaching out to all tour operators in Palau to emphasize on the protection of Palau’s extraordinary biodiversity for the benefit of Palauan communities and the tourism industry.  The goal of this workshop is to ensure that members of the tourism industry implement environmental best practices within their activities that will not lead to the degradation of the environment which is the basis of Palau’s tourism industry.  The objective is to build industry awareness of the link between the rich biological diversity of Palau and its sensitivity to impacts from tourism, bridge gaps in understanding between the tourism sector, the environment sector, and the public regarding the interdependency of their interests; and articulate best practices for the tourism industry to implement in order to ensure sustainable tourism development that benefits Palau, provides a high quality visitor experience and minimize impacts on the environment.

Following this workshop will be Korean tour operators workshop in Palau on November 19, 2016, from 11am to 2pm, at The Penthouse Hotel.
