Russia is sponsoring a two-week training for diplomats from the Pacific Island Developing States which will run from September to October in Moscow.

In an interview, Russia’s Honorary Consul to Palau Seit Andres said that two staff from Palau’s Ministry of State (MOS)will be sponsored by the Russian government to undergo training through its Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Seit said that the Russian government will cover all expenses for international affairs during the duration of the training including accommodations.

Seit, however, said that Palau’s MOS has not confirmed yet whether they are going to participate in the training.

“It is a good opportunity not only to be trained in diplomacy but it will also serve as an opportunity to explore Russia and learn about its culture,” Seit said. (By Rhealyn C. Pojas)
